Sonitrol Sponsors School Officer of the Year Award
BERWYN, Pa.
Security provider Sonitrol Corp. and its authorized dealers helped to sponsor the Florida Association of School Resource Officers’ (FASRO) 26th annual convention. Approximately 500 resource officers (school police officers) from around Florida attended to honor this year’s “Florida Resource Officer of the Year.”
Sonitrol presented an award plaque and a $500 check to this year’s recipient, the Charlotte County School Resource Officer unit. This year marked the first time a unit, rather than an individual officer, was honored.
“[The event] was outstanding,” said Sonitrol of Orlando’s general manager Bill Ford. “The well-deserved award went to the Charlotte County SRO unit due to their heroic acts as they endured helping schoolchildren victims during the destructive hurricanes. These officers placed their call-of-duty in front of their own personal needs and hardships.”
