Speco Technologies Turns to Web Trainings

Published: April 27, 2009

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. – This year, Speco Technologies began offering live, online Web seminars as a convenience to its customers. The training is also meant to expand access to information about Speco products, according to the company.

“If they cannot come to us, we will gladly bring our training initiatives to them,” says Todd Keller, Speco president. “We want our professionals to become knowledgeable in new technologies that are improving our industry everyday.”

The Web seminars, which are offered at no charge, have had a large audience of attendees this year, according to Speco. Questions are answered at the end of each session and anyone can repeat a specific topic at their convenience. New topics are developed continuously and every month the Webinar schedule can be found on Speco’s Web site.

Because in-coming call traffic to the company’s technical support group was tremendous, Speco decided to expand on the helpful guidance of its technicians by putting together programs to educate as many customers as possible on the company’s new and existing products.

The company initially developed several CEU-credited courses such as “Digital Video Recorder Basic Training” and “70-Volt Audio Basic Training” that were taken on the road in North America and taught at Speco’s headquarters.

Enrollments and industry feedback were positive enough that the company invested in a new Educational Center. The training facility was set up to give industry members a hands-on experience with the company’s products while learning about their features and applications.
