Spokane Police Warn Homeowners of Security Scam
SPOKANE, Wash. — Police here have urged homeowners to beware of fraudulent sales representatives from Orem, Utah-based Vision Security, who are allegedly lying to customers and forging contracts.
Recently, employees from Vision Security, a door-to-door sales alarm company, have told consumers without security systems that the Sheriff’s Office has received a grant that will pay for the installation of alarm systems, reports NWCN.com.
For homeowners who already had a system installed, Vision Security salespeople informed them that they needed to make changes to their systems. After signing a 60-month contract with the firm, some homeowners noticed that they were still being charged with their original alarm company, as well as with Vision Security.
