In a world seemingly gone mad at times, it’s always nice to be reminded we are surrounded by individuals who demonstrate compassion and goodwill in their daily lives.
Take, for instance, Albuquerque, N.M., resident Sarah Hall, who took it upon herself (with help from her mother and a friend) to prepare more than 300 Thanksgiving meals for area law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders. All on her own dime.
A local television news team got wind of Hall’s generosity after being contacted by former cop Aaron Jones, who operates the security guard company, International Protective Services. Hall had offered to provide meals to some of Jones’ guards who were working on Thanksgiving.
Do view the complete news report below, as this story of spreading holiday cheer also involves local alarm company A-TECH Security. It turns out that while Hall was delivering the individually boxed Thanksgiving meals, her house was burglarized. Jones arranged to have Hall come to his office where the news crew was awaiting, much to her surprise, to video record her story and honor her with the station’s “Pay It 4ward” award.
Along with a cash gift from the station, Jones presented Hall with a pledge to provide her free security guard response services as well as alarm monitoring response. Hall, heretofore, did not have an alarm system, but she does now. A-TECH Security President Rich Rosley, a friend of Jones, was impressed with Hall’s sense of community and donated the alarm system and installation.
Bravo all around.
