SSI Earns 2 Nods for Editorial Excellence

TORRANCE, Calif. — SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION has been named as a finalist in the Western Publishing Association (WPA) Maggie Awards program. The magazine has earned nominations in the Best Non-Paid Trade magazine and Best News Story/Trade categories.

This is the eighth consecutive year SSI has earned nominations in the editorial excellence awards program. In 2005, SSI took home a Maggie Award for Best Interview/Profile Trade.

The March 2010 issue is a top nominee for the Best Non-Paid Trade publication. The ISC West show issue covered the Fenway Park fire solution installation, 2010 SAMMY Award nominees, Hall of Fame Class of 2010, priority response alarms, video analytics, growing RMR with managed access control, the 2010 Demographic Census and more.

SSI Hall of Famer Louis (Lou) Fiore‘s article, “Averting an Alarm Communications Gap,” will compete in the Best News Story/Trade category. Featured in the September 2010 issue, the article stresses the importance for alarm monitoring providers to stay current with the latest advances and changes in signal transmission technologies.

“The greatest satisfaction comes from the frequent and terrific feedback we receive from readers,” SSI Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine says. “But it’s also quite a joy to be recognized for editorial excellence by such an established and highly respected program as the WPA’s Maggie Awards. It validates all the hard work and dedication each and every member of our team pours into making SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION the electronic security industry’s finest publication. Even though I have been a part of nearly a decade’s worth of consecutive nominations, it never gets old or less thrilling.”

Winners of the 60th Annual Maggie Awards will be announced on April 29.
