SSI Video Weekly News: Comcast Ruling By Massachusetts Attorney General Stuns Security Industry

This past week, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey ruled that Comcast’s Xfinity system “does not constitute a security system” and thus does not require a license or permit to install the wireless system.

Shortly after the ruling, the security industry responded, including responses from the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and Massachusetts Systems Contractors Association (MSCA). The ESA is concerned with the precedent the ruling sets for licensing and the MSCA called the ruling “shocking.”
