Airport security is an ongoing topic of discussion, especially considering the threat of terrorism. SSI gained behind-the-scenes access to Quebec City’s Jean-Lesage International Airport’s security center, installed by Genetec. Check out SSI’s photo gallery from the visit north of the border, including the airport’s electronic card credentials and biometric fingerprint reader.

In other airport security news, JFK Airport is now using facial recognition software to match a person’s face to their passport, and CNN is reporting a laptop bomb that detonated on a Somali flight was able to pass through the airport’s X-ray machine.
