Stanley CSS Expands Georgia Footprint With Latest Sonitrol Buy

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (CSS) has purchased Savannah, Ga.-based Sonitrol dealer Electronic Protection Network (EPN).

The acquisition allows the company to expand its presence in the Georgia market, Stanley CSS Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Felix Gonzales tells SSI. The company will take over mostly commercial accounts in the banking, education, industrial, restaurant and retail markets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We purchased Sonitrol of North Georgia back in 2009,” Gonzales says. “We also have an existing Stanley CSS office in Atlanta, so this gives use quite a bit of coverage in Georgia.”

Stanley CSS purchased EPN from Chris and Jennifer Duncan, who wanted to get out of the security business, says Gonzales. The company also plans to bring aboard former EPN employees to the Stanley CSS team.

This is the first Sonitrol acquisition for Stanley CSS since purchasing two Sonitrol franchises in Oklahoma in November 2010. After the latest deal, there are more than 80 Sonitrol franchises remaining across the United States, Gonzales says.
