Stanley Security says it has been awarded a contract to design and install a perimeter intrusion detection system for the Memphis-Shelby County (Tenn.) Airport Authority. Installers will add 64 fixed day/night cameras to approximately 34,000 feet of the current security fence line at Memphis Airport, and all will be analyzed by the ObjectVideo VEW System.

Plans for the system include the installation of a single and multimode fiber-optic backbone around the perimeter of the area to support the project, future growth, and strategically placed pan/tilt/zoom cameras.

The entire perimeter intrusion detection system is available commercially and is currently being deployed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Bureau of Customs and Border Protection to improve intrusion detection along the northern and southern U.S. borders.
