Status Indicator Monitors Hazards

Published: February 28, 2005

The UniStat is a multicolor, single high-status indicator designed to accommodate hazardous area and type 4X applications. Made by Federal Signal Corp. of University Park, Ill., the UniStat Model USIX is the first status indicator that meets the Division 2 standard set by the National Electric Code (NFPA 70).

It can produce up to four colors from a single light source and it is vibration-resistant, providing 100,000 hours of in-field service. Four visual flash patterns are available: steady burn, slow flash, strobe flash and SimuStrobe. The latter simulates the flash rate of a strobe light but with a more colorful output.
