Surveillance Camera Captures Key Evidence in Missing Girl Case

SARASOTA, Fla.

A surveillance camera at a car wash is proving to be a valuable aid in the search for a missing girl in Sarasota, Fla. The camera captured Sunday night what appears to be the abduction of 11-year-old Carlie Brucia as she was walking home from a friend’s house.

According to CNN, the camera’s video shows a white man in his late 20s or early 30s approach the blond, blue-eyed girl, speak to her for a few seconds, grab her by the arm and lead her away. An Amber Alert has been issued for Carlie.

Evie’s Car Wash was closed at 6:20 p.m. Sunday when its surveillance camera caught the man approaching Carlie, who was walking behind the business after apparently taking a short cut home. She did not appear to know the man, who was wearing a mechanic’s shirt with a name patch on the chest. Her parents don’t recognize him.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Carlie Brucia is asked to call (941) 861-4923.
