Surveillance Firm Helps Keep Eye on Theft, Service
DALLAS
Kelby Hagar, president of Dallas-based Digital Wireless, believes digital cameras, monitors and software can improve training, service and productivity in restaurants. The surveillance system can also reduce theft and increase safety for about 50 to 70 cents an hour.
“Instead of watching hours and hours of video, you can search by time, a specific spot in the restaurant or an individual transaction to pull up the information you need,” says Hagar.
Restaurant owners can do time-motion studies to discern how long customers wait in the drive-through or for a table. With the new system, they can also see if the kitchen is over- or understaffed. Digital Wireless operates in more than 450 restaurants and chains.
