Tamron USA Announces Restructuring of Personnel for 2016

Personnel changes come to prepare for ‘challenging’ 2016 ahead.

COMMACK, N.Y. — Tamron USA announced the restructure of its organization for greater flexibility and positioning in today’s business climate. The restructure follows the Dec. 1 announcement of the promotion of Gregg Maniaci to president and CEO and Hidekazu Suzuki as senior vice president.

“The market situation in the USA in 2015 was very challenging, and 2016 may prove to be more challenging still. However, we at Tamron USA feel very confident that this restructure prepares us for the difficult road ahead,” said Maniaci. “We have a new team of talented, skilled people with tremendous abilities and experience that can lead the way. Our internal departments are now aligned to operate more efficiently, and our field staff has never been stronger. We are better prepared to build a stronger brand in the USA and we are firmly focused on the future.”

The company’s restructure includes the appointment of Stacie Errera as vice president of marketing and communications. Daniel Davies was promoted to director of sales and will oversee sales for both the photo imaging and industrial optics divisions. Hiro Katano was named director of accounting and finance. Pat Simonetti was promoted to director of operations, overseeing order, distribution and service.

Rounding out the new management team are Katsuyuki Miyagishi, promoted to business development & planning manager, photographic business unit, and Rei Yamaguchi, promoted to business development & planning manager, industrial optics business unit.

Reporting to Davies from the photo division are Sue Palermo, western region sales manager, and Alana Gallego, newly promoted to eastern region sales manager. Twenty sales reps, a combination of both company and independent, report to the regional sales managers.

Kai T. Leung was promoted to the newly created position of national business sales manager for the photo division. Leung will oversee national accounts and large internet retailers and will report directly to Davies.

In the industrial optics division, Davies has several team members reporting to him including Adam Podell, eastern region OEM sales manager; Jianqiao Li, western region OEM sales representative; Darwin Alcantara, distribution manager; and Ricardo Minohara, sales representative for Tamron’s industrial optics business in Mexico.

“This new sales team structure is designed to facilitate close communication with our customers and between internal departments in order to achieve Tamron USA’s primary objective of strong corporate growth based on a high level of customer satisfaction,” said Davies. “Our sales team will strive for excellence in customer satisfaction, making Tamron an attractive choice for our partners.”
