The Tennessee Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (TBFAA) has announced its plans to merge its annual convention with the Electronic Security Expo (ESX). ESX is a new conference and exposition owned and produced by Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) and National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA).
ESX will take place in Nashville, Tenn., in 2008. The conference will be held June 25-27 and the exhibit will be open from June 26-27.
According to TBFAA, the state association’s annual convention draws 300 to 400 owner/operators and top management decision makers from Tennessee’s installing and monitoring companies. Dozens of manufacturers, distributors and service providers have also participated in the past as exhibitors and sponsors.
“The TBFAA is excited about the arrival of ESX in our capital city and will do everything in its power to ensure strong participation from our members and other qualified integration and monitoring companies across the state,” says Scott Slough, president of TBFAA and Knoxville-based Slough & Associates. “At ESX, we’ll host our traditional annual membership meeting and participate in the training and social and networking functions to enhance the success of ESX.”
In a joint announcement in July, CSAA and NBFAA said ESX will focus “on the product, technical and management training needs of installing and monitoring companies and the trends toward integration and Internet Protocol (IP) enabled security systems in the commercial, industrial, institutional and residential markets.”
George Gunning, president of the NBFAA and CEO of Monrovia, Calif.-based USA Alarm Systems, has also announced plans to host NBFAA’s 60th anniversary at ESX.
