BUFORD, Ga. — Security integrator Tech Systems, based here, has appointed Jay Levine as COO with responsibilities to direct the administrative and operational functions of the company.
“Having Jay joining the Tech Systems’ team will be a tremendous asset in driving the company performance and ensuring business operations are efficient and effective,” states Tech Systems CEO Darryl Keeler. “Not only will this enhance the employee ownership experience but will improve the client service-centric business model that is the foundation of Tech Systems.”
Levine has more than 40 years of executive managerial experience. Throughout his career he has successfully managed company operations with an emphasis on growth, improving financial structure, and driven to meet objectives, according to an announcement.
He began his career in 1979 as the chief accountant and general manager for Current Inc. and helped grow the company from $65 million to $180 million by developing regional merchandising strategies, designing a sophisticated point-of-sale (POS) system, and improving accounting practices and manufacturing operations.
In 1989 Levine joined Sunrise Medical and over a 10-year period served multiple functions as general manager, director of operations, vice president and CFO for merging business units and diverse operating divisions.
“I have known and been an admirer of Tech Systems for almost 20 years. As a board member for the past three years, I have been a first-hand observer of the incredible culture Darryl Keeler has created, and now I have the opportunity to be part of this dynamic organization,” Levine says. “I am very excited, and I look forward to contributing to their future success.”
Much of Levine’s security industry knowledge came from his time with PSA Security, a global systems integrator cooperative. From 1999 to 2007 he guided the company’s financial health and directed the management of the sales, finance, operations, marketing and new business development.
Since 2008 he has been a business management consultant working with company leadership teams to identify problems, gather information and implement solutions.
