TeleAlarm Acquires SafetyCare to Enhace Life Safety Services

READING, Pa.

TeleAlarm, provider of emergency response systems, has acquired SafetyCare monitoring center, according to company officials.

“We are pleased to be acquiring the assets of SafetyCare, as it is only one of a few companies globally incorporating life-safety monitoring with other health and wellness services,” said Mike Bodnar, a TeleAlarm executive who has been named general manager of SafetyCare, based in Reading, Pa.

Along with processing emergency signals from its existing line of wireless emergency call systems, TeleAlarm is now staffed with first responders who have been tasked with providing a higher level of monitoring service and care to seniors and individuals with special needs. SafetyCare monitoring professionals are experienced in handling myriad emergency situations and safeguarding the welfare of customers.

TeleAlarm, provider of wireless emergency call systems marketing and servicing, can now offer its customers immediate access to professionals in a health crisis or other critical incident. SafetyCare services will provide a layer of added protection to TeleAlarm customers, most of whom are elderly residents in assisted living facilities or residing at home.

TeleAlarm offers a full emergency call system, linked wirelessly to a main station. People residing in assisted living facilities or at home can press a button to alert a care provider. The wireless device, in the form of a bracelet or pendant, can also track customers in case of an emergency.

With the enhanced benefit of SafetyCare, TeleAlarm provides a fully integrated emergency call system for senior care facilities with an added layer of back-up protection through the monitoring of the entire system by first responders in the central station.

To underscore its expanded services, TeleAlarm is changing its name to SafetyCare Technologies LLC.

In preparation for the acquisition, TeleAlarm has undertaken a $2 million renovation of an 8,000-square-foot facility in Reading, Pa., making it possible to accommodate the enhanced SafetyCare technology and manpower.
