The Protection Bureau Helps Children Succeed in School
The Protection Bureau, a family-owned and operated security integrator in the Mid-Atlantic region, has awarded scholarships to six young adults as part of its 4th annual Education Fund. The program, established by Keith and Mary Ladd of The Protection Bureau, benefits children of current employees who enroll in formal programs for post-high school education.
With more families struggling with the rising cost of living and tuition, Keith Ladd says he is proud to be able to help young adults realize their dreams.
“Mary and I were discussing the growth of our company and the increased number of employees. That led us to thinking about what was most meaningful to the many families who are part of The Protection Bureau,” he tells SSI. “We realized the importance of children to our people and the value of education beyond the secondary level, so we decided to emphasize the importance of education and to assist our employees in providing such education.”
In the past the company presented four scholarships – up to $1,000 each – but was able to offer six this year. The awards were distributed to students attending Penn State University, West Chester University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Eastern University, Arizona State University and Delaware County Community College.
“One of the benefits we have received is getting to know these fine young people as they seek to better themselves by getting a good education, and in watching them develop and grow,” says Ladd. “Another is the satisfaction in seeing that some of the money our employees help us make is returned to them.”
