The Protection Bureau Scholarship Program Helps 7 Students Further Education

EXTON, Pa. — The Protection Bureau presented a sum of $7,000 in scholarship funds to seven children of current employees who are pursuing higher education at colleges and universities.

Company owners Keith and Mary Ladd began the “Education Fund” in 2005 to help teens of staff members further their education and defray the cost of tuition and/or books.

A panel of three independent judges selected the recipients in June and based their choices on each candidate’s application. Company management did not influence the judges’ decisions in any way, according to a press release.

Award recipients include Samantha Dwyer, Heather High, Jessica Lynch, Christopher Urban, Lindsay Urban, Amanda Wolf and Laura Worley.

“This project was one that was close to Keith’s heart. He would be very happy to know that we’ve been able to continue it,” Mary Ladd says.
