In the December 2012 Tech Talk column titled “Making Systems More User-Friendly,” I had stated the possible posting of additional replies from your peers. Below is a listing of what you thought were great manufacturer Web sites. Note that they come from many low voltage trades such as home automation, RFID, security, CCTV, access control, and low voltage cabling.

Their consumer, dealer, and smartphone apps are all awesome. |

DSC.com has always been a great site for reference for me. Honeywellvideo.com is a great site for the most up-to-date surveillance and intrusion equipment. |
||
It’s not polite to blow your own horn…but what the heck: I find it really easy to negotiate the Keyscan site by just scrolling down and using the site index rather than opening the headers at the top. |
||
Of course the manufacturer’s Web site must be clear |
||
I like the aeicompounds.com Web site as it has a great deal of information of a subject that is sometimes ignored when looking at making cables |
||
I like Coleman Cable, a wide variety of products with spec sheets. They also offer links to products and how-to videos. |
||
One of my favorites. I also like several others. Are you setting up a Web site to sell finished products? |

Bob Borwick |
By far the best Web site in our industry that I am familiar with. It’s easy to find and what you need and well done sale sheets that are mostly typed on white background so you don’t waste all your printing ink. Well done! |

Try Cytech for the comfort home control and security product. |

This site is the reference inside the A/V market. For example, when you’re logged in, you can see the specifications and the prices depending on your account. |

The Control4.com site is always very clean and intuitive on both sites (dealer and consumer). Wyrestorm.com is very good. The product specs are very easy to read and the product videos are great! |

Daniel Henderson |
Obviously I’m biased but our Web site is our catalog. |

Good material on temperature monitoring in pharma and perishables cold chain, RFID and cloud, whitepapers on BAP vs. passive and active and more.

In the CCTV arena, I am partial to Mobotix, they have always been great as far as design and the tech line has been top notch. |
If you would like to know more information on those that submitted the Web sites, you can click on the link to the person that made the suggestions. However, remember that these are LinkedIn links and you may be asked to join a particular LinkedIn group if you are not already a member. Most are open to having new members so don’t be shy. Oh yes, make sure you at least join the SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION magazine’s LinkedIn group.
I found the diversity of this listing very interesting and information. I hope that you may also find a true “Diamond In the Rough” (DIR) here as well.
