Top 10 Security Stories From April 2020: COVID-19 Loan Insights, Questionable SimpliSafe Marketing

This year has without a doubt gotten off to a strange start. Many of us began 2020 planning trips to various events, trade shows and meetings — yet we are now confined to our homes. Except for you essential workers. Keep up the great work, you’re keeping the world spinning!

Unsurprisingly, coronavirus content once again makes up the majority of the most popular stories on SSI this month. While last month’s top stories mainly consisted of how COVID-19 could potentially impact the security industry, this month’s stories are more focused on how to keep your business afloat.

In late March, the government approved a $2 trillion stimulus package which included $349 billion in loans that will be specifically administered by the Small Business Administration .

Since then, industry accountant and SSI Industry Hall of Fame member Mitch Reitman has been providing SSI readers with loan insights and guidance on key benefits to look for.

It’s not all doom and gloom around here though. SSI‘s slideshow of relatable essential worker memes was by far the most popular piece of content in April.

Non-coronavirus news includes Bosch Security Systems and Sony calling it quits on their partnership, an ADT tech that snooped on hundreds of customers and much more. Check out the stories by viewing the slideshow.
