Top Security Stories From January 2018

We’re only a month into the new year and it looks like some of SSI‘s 2018 predictions are coming true! The same can be said for potential surprises and issues named by security execs in January’s Industry Forecast issue.

Of course we are talking about DIY security systems. Nearly half of January’s most read stories are related to this topic. Consumers want to know about them, and pros want to know how to compete with them.

Also very popular last month was ADT. The company made headlines for stating it would go public, and then made them again when it made a lackluster debut on the NYSE.

However, the most read story of the month was about ADT settling with Vivint over a deceptive sales lawsuit. Vivint also appears in the top story rundown in more positive news for the release of its security camera-sharing app unveiled at CES 2018.
