The majority of not only our country, but our planet has been upended by a pandemic. The coronavirus outbreak has led to some serious changes when it comes to our daily lives.

So it’s no surprise that coronavirus-related articles make up a little more than half of this month’s top stories. The beginning of the outbreak saw the cancellation or postponement of industry events worldwide. However, more drastic steps have since been taken in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.

Many states around the country have ordered “non-essential” workers to stay home. Lucky for security integrators (or unlucky depending on how you feel about COVID-19), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has identified integrators as essential critical infrastructure workers.

Not only is this a positive for those looking to protect their homes and businesses in these times of certainty, but as Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine notes, “security is about as recession-proof an industry as any one might speculate about.”
