The month of September contained some pretty big news for a lot of major companies in the security industry — companies like ADT, UTC, Alarm.com and more.
The month’s most buzzed about story was that of ADT CEO Tim Whall announcing he will retire Nov. 30. Whall, is an SSI Hall of Fame inductee and helped ADT redefine security and become a premier player in the commercial space.
September was also quite a notable month for United Technologies Corp. (UTC). The company lands on this list twice — first for its acquisition of S2 Security, a leading developer of unified security and video management solutions, and a second time for reportedly considering a sale of its Chubb Fire & Security division for more than $3 billion.
Things also took a turn for the creepy this month after a Florida-based security systems installer was busted after the spy cameras he put in his ex-girlfriend’s house recorded him installing them. Not cool, dude.
