It’s no secret that police response has been the subject of much criticism during the past year-plus. However, video has surfaced of a police officer’s actions that everyone can agree is right on the money.
The Gainesville Police Department received a noise complaint about a basketball game being played in the street. An officer responded to the complaint and approached the kids at their basketball hoop. After a short conversation, the dashboard camera shows the cop joining in on the game as opposed to stopping it.
The cop’s actions appeared to be well received by kids, as more surfaced to join in on the game.
The message coming from the officer’s actions is simple: Kids should not be punished for being kids.
