Well, this is disturbing.
A woman was caught on video surveillance stealing a ring off a dead woman’s hand who was lying in a casket at Sunset Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. Yes, it appears people have stooped that low.
KMID in Odessa obtained the video of the suspect, who is said to still be on the run. If the woman is caught, she could be charged with a felony, police say.
“We’ve had incidents in the past involving headstones or graveyards that have been tampered with, but I can’t ever remember a time where we’ve specifically had something stolen off an actual deceased person,” said Odessa police spokesperson Steve LeSueur.
