The Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) has
signed a contract with Siemens Maintenance Services LLC
(SMS) after it held an open bidding process for an
Integrated Logistics Support contract. The Firm Fixed Price
contract between TSA and SMS extends through Sept. 30 with
four one-year options, and is valued at $46.9 million.
Through the contract, SMS provides maintenance and support
for more than 12,000 TSA security devices, including X-ray
machines, metal detectors and explosive trace detectors, in
the nation’s 450 commercial airports. SMS also provides
property administration, manages the call center – where
maintenance needs are relayed and coordinated – and
provides storage space for spare equipment.
