Tri-Ed/Northern Video CEO to Receive SIA’s Lippert Award

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Security Industry Association (SIA) will bestow the 2011 Lippert Award to Tri-Ed/Northern Video CEO Steve Roth.

A former member of the SIA board of directors, Roth began his career in the alarm industry in 1974 as the general manager of Currier-Smith Corp., a digital communication devices supplier. In 1977, he joined ADEMCO, and later developed ADI, a distribution business for the company. After Honeywell Int’l acquired ADI, Roth became president of the Security Group. After he left the company, Roth led a team of investors in the acquisition of Tri-Ed Distribution from Tyco Int’l in 2005. He also played an instrumental role in the Tri-Ed and Northern Video Systems merger in 2010. Roth currently serves on the board of directors of Tiffen Acquisitions LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of photographic accessories products.

The George R. Lippert Memorial Award recognizes outstanding contributions to SIA and the security industry. Roth will receive the award at the Security Week Gala on Nov. 2 at Chelsea Pier 61 in New York City.
