Steve Castello, a former Sonitrol manager who purchased Hamilton Alarms about 1 1/2 years ago, recently purchased PM Alarm in Chattanooga, Tenn., from Pete Roberts. Castello says he intends to keep the combined company’s monitoring station local.

“With local monitoring, you get to know what the weather conditions are, and you’re familiar with police departments. We get to know our customers,” Castello told the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Castello maintains that sales are expected to hit $1.1 million at the end of this year and rise to $1.6 million in three to five years. The company has 17 employees and approximately 2,800 alarm clients. Don Helms, security consultant for PM Alarm, says the company’s business is split between commercial and residential.
