Tyco Brings Security, Entertainment, Automation Solutions Home at ISC West

Tyco Fire & Security launched several new products at ISC West, including a GSM alarm communicator, a consolidated home security, entertainment and automation solution bundle, a pair of complementary products for home automation, and a new global marketing tool.
The GS3055-I alarm communicator is designed to use the GPRS data channel of the GSM network to ensure low-cost, faster and more reliable alarm communications. The GS3055-I can serve as an effective primary or backup alarm communicator. It also provides a solution for installations that have converted to Voice over IP (VoIP). Connect 24 is the digital service provider for the communicator, which includes administering accounts and handling billing.
DSC Home Powered by Life|Ware solution brings together home security, home automation and home entertainment all controlled in the living room via the TV screen, digital entertainment center and TV remote control. It is designed so that the customer’s TV will become the dashboard for managing security, lighting, temperature, music, pictures, video, movies and television. It will enable customers to arm perimeter home security or specific zones from inside or outside the house using electronic key fobs. The solution also includes a real-time IP camera for keeping an eye on the front door, back deck, or inside for children, pets and elderly relatives.
Part of the Web Services for Devices (WSD) intelligent home network-connected security system plus home entertainment and automation solution, the IT-120 WSD integration module uses WSD to interface with DSC PowerSeries™ control panels and Exceptional Innovation’s Life|Ware solution. The IT-120 is part of the DSC HOME Powered by Life|Ware product bundle.
The IT-100 integration module provides an Application Programming Interface (API) to allow third-party home or building automation applications, like Control 4®, Centralite, AMX and HomeLogic to communicate with DSC PowerSeries control panels. It features a bi-directional RS-232 interface that accepts commands and sends event-driven or state-change commands to third-party applications to create shared functionality.
Capping off Tyco’s ISC announcements, online technical training is now available for DSC and Sur-Gard installers and dealers. DSC also announced dscmarketplace.com, a new global marketing tool and “private label Web site” with an expanded literature selection, promotional item store and private label section.
