Tyco Electronics intends to enter the growing residential networking market with a new cabling system. AMP Netconnect residential cabling system targets the multiple dwelling unit (MDU) segment of the residential market. The widespread availability and rapid adoption rate of new commercial broadband services and residential environments are fueling market demand for cost-effective and reliable structured cabling solutions. Sources say there will be 46 million home offices by the year 2004.
“With the introduction of the AMP Netconnect residential cabling system, we’re enabling developers and property management companies to derive new, recurring sources of revenue from the wide array of commercially available broadband services now emerging,” says David Straka, manager, residential sales, Tyco Electronics.
