Tyco is looking to expand the employee workforce at its Fire and Security division’s headquarters and is considering a future expansion of the Boca Roton, Fla., facility according to Fire and Security President David Robinson, who marks one year in the job. As part of a companywide restructuring, Tyco has been consolidating its Fire and Security operations to Boca Raton, including having fire detection and alarm manufacturer SimplexGrinnell move its operations from Houston and Westminster, Mass., to Florida.
“We will grow and we will add more jobs as we consolidate from other locations, such as Houston, and as we grow the business long-term,” Robinson told the Palm Beach Post. “I chose (Boca Raton). This was the largest headquarters facility we had. It made sense to me to pull all these headquarters together. It’s a good location.”
Robinson also told the Post that ADT, part of the Fire and Security segment, has been lowering its attrition rate, crediting the end of the practice of signing a customer contract with no money down.
