Tyco Sells Offender Monitoring Unit of ADT

Tyco has divested the offender-monitoring unit of ADT and sold it to Group 4 Securicor. ADT Offender Monitoring (ADT OM) will be folded into Securicor’s G4S Justice Services Inc. U.S. subsidiary. The purchase price for the assets of ADT OM was not disclosed, but the assets of ADT OM were worth $6 million.

ADT OM monitors convicted criminals for localities through the use of ankle bracelets and other equipment.

Tyco has been trimming some of its security properties in a two-year-long restructuring that has included the sales of Sonitrol, National Alarm Computer Center (NACC) and Tri-Ed Distribution.
