U.S. Security Associates Acquires McRoberts Protective Agency

The guarding and consultation firm said the McRoberts purchase would augment its own maritime capabilities.

ATLANTA – Guarding and consultation firm U.S. Security Associates has acquired McRoberts Protective Agency. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A nationally certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE), McRoberts is the oldest security agency in the United States, providing comprehensive, integrated security services, technology, consulting, investigations and training, according to its Web site.

The acquisition supports U.S. Security Associates’ strategy for growth and strengthens its presence in multiple strategic markets, according to Richard Wyckoff, president and CEO of the company.

McRoberts, a fifth generation company,is noted in the industry for its maritime knowledge and industry advancements, further augmenting U.S. Security Associates’ in-house maritime capabilities, states Alton Harvey, senior vice president, national accounts. “Our comprehensive training academy already includes a rigorous training and certification program to ensure our security officers meet the federal and international requirements set forth by the Maritime Transportation Security Act and the International Ship and Port Facility Security code.”
