SAN ANTONIO – Wholesale monitoring services provider United Central Control (UCC), based here, has launched a fundraising campaign to provide assistance to Louisiana flood victims.
Described as the worst U.S. disaster since Hurricane Sandy, record-breaking August storms have left more than 60,000 homes damaged and thousands of Louisiana residents homeless in its wake. UCC said one of its employees has family in Louisiana that needed to be evacuated, as well as one of its alarm dealer customers, Eatel, whose employees are severely impacted by the tragic flooding.
“Our hearts and prayers go out to the good people of Louisiana. We have personal ties in the affected areas. Not only do we help to protect some of the affected families by providing monitoring services to a local Louisiana dealer, a family member of our dispatchers lost her home to the flooding,” says UCC President Teresa Gonzalez.
UCC is collecting basic everyday items such as hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, baby wipes and other essential toiletries. The items along with gift cards are being shipped to Eatel where employees are coordinating the distribution of the care packages to those affected by the devastation.
UCC also created a website to collect monetary donations, which will be used to purchase supplies. Donations can be made securely at TeamUCC.com/help-louisiana-flood-victims. All proceeds will be used to purchase supplies and gift cards.
Supplies, monetary donations and gift cards are also being accepted by UCC at its San Antonio facility. To make arrangements for a drop off, contact Tracey Ritchie at tritchie@teamucc.com or call (888) 832-6822.
