Ultra-High Resolution Day/Night Camera Features 4th-Generation DSP

Published: January 31, 2008

Melville, N.Y.-based Samsung360° announces its SHC735N super wide dynamic range ultra-high resolution day/night camera. The product incorporates 4th-generation proprietary Samsung DSP technology.

An ICR filter provides day/night switchover and allows around-the-clock surveillance even in low light. The new generation of proprietary Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNR II) increases picture quality by eliminating noise in low light and provides DVR storage savings, according to the company.

A 128x dynamic range with 52dB signal-to-noise ratio allows capture of details in both dark and light areas of the same scene despite contrasting lighting conditions. Special, proprietary highlight backlight compensation can eliminate the problems caused by bright lights such as automobile headlights.
