Ultrak Inc. announces it has struck a strategic alliance with Teleste to offer CCTV fiber transmission solutions. Under the agreement, Ultrak will be a worldwide distributor of Teleste’s fiber-optic transmission products for CCTV applications. Teleste specializes in fiber transmission solutions for CCTV and communications networks in the fields of traffic and transport surveillance and monitoring, security, process control and multimedia communication. “We are very impressed with the quality of manufacturing and performance of Teleste’s products. The addition of Teleste’s fiber-optic transmission will allow us to provide more complete integrated solutions for our channel partners and customers,” says Mohsen Hekmatyar, director of International Business Development.
In other company news, Ultrak announces that it has sold certain assets of its United Kingdom-based distributor, Intervision Express Ltd., to Norbain SD Ltd., thus exiting the noncore business of distributing other brands of CCTV products in the U.K. and Ireland. Norbain is Europe’s leading distributor of CCTV and access control equipment. Ultrak will receive approximately $2.4 million in cash for inventory and certain other assets, including use of the Intervision trade name.
