UTC Fire & Security announces the completion of its acquisition of Detection Logic Fire Protection Inc., a fire/life-safety and security contractor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Burbank, Calif., Detection Logic engineers, installs and services fire detection and protection systems for commercial building customers. Its subsidiaries, including Pratt Landry Associates, Vantronics Security Systems, Dialcom System Services and Detection Logic Inc. (formerly known as Copperstate Technologies and ASL), operate out of 13 U.S. branches concentrated in the West and Gulf Coast area.
Antonio Cintra, UTC’s president of the fire and security services business in the Americas, says Detection Logic is “a strong and profitable company with excellent management talent and a blue-chip customer base.”
“The proposed acquisition will augment UTC Fire & Security’s presence in the western region and expand our footprint in the Gulf Coast area. Detection Logic has an attractive business mix comprising of retrofit, tenant improvement and recurring service work which typically is less cyclical than the new construction segment,” Cintra says.
