UTC Sees Personnel Changes at Kidde, Hires Ex-GE Security Exec

FARMINGTON, Conn.

The president of fire safety products manufacturer Kidde Residential & Commercial is retiring. Edward LeBlanc will leave his position on Dec. 31 and will be succeeded by Robert Aquilino, currently president of electric lock manufacturer Onity, which like Kidde is a subsidiary of United Technologies Co. (UTC) Fire & Security.

LeBlanc has been president for five years after coming to Kidde from Regent Lighting Corp.

“Ed LeBlanc’s commitment to excellence and his dedication to protecting consumers from fire and carbon monoxide risks have truly set him apart,” said Doug Vaday, president of fire safety for UTC Fire & Security, in a statement.

In another personnel move at UTC, Jim Clark, who had been with GE and its security business since 2001, has joined UTC Fire & Security and will serve as its vice president of marketing and marketing strategy.

Clark was most recently vice president of global sales and marketing for GE Security.

UTC’s security properties include Lenel and Chubb.
