Belden CDT Networking of Fort Mill, S.C., announces its new end-to-end unshielded twister-pair (UTP ) cabling solution for 10GB Ethernet. The Belden IBDN System 10GX was specifically designed for 10GB use, rather than upgrading existing Category-6 cable.
The new cable system was designed to reduce alien cross-talk to a level of 15dB, which is 30 times lower than 100BASE-T at 100 meters. The cable itself is composed of two elements: a filler twisted around four cable pairs with an internal cross-web design to eliminate cross-talk.
