BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech and X7 Systems Integration have partnered to install a networked video security system on campus.
The university’s nearly $1 million contract with X7 Systems Integration allows for three project phrases, including the already completed $221,098 installation of cameras in a parking garage, The Associated Press reports. Phase two includes about 250 cameras around campus and will cost $708,736.
The third phase might include the installations of up to 2,500 cameras. The university has not yet defined what that phase will include.
