PITTSBURGH — In honor of National Fire Safety Month, Vector Security announces it has created a social media campaign that will award $5,000 to a local fire department.

The campaign was created to drive awareness of local fire fighters and the important work done every day to protect the communities they serve.

Those interested can enter in four easy steps:

  1. Take a photo of yourself with someone from your designated fire department holding a sign saying, “Vector Security Promotes Fire Safety”.
  2. Post the photo (publicly so Vector can see it) to your Facebook page with the hashtag #FireSafetyVS17.
  3. Like the Vector Security Facebook page: facebook.com/vectorsecurity
  4. Submit the online entry form.

At the end of October, one fire department will be selected as the winner and presented with a check for $5,000. The winner will be selected randomly, with bonus entries included based on creativity of the photo.

“One home structure fire is reported every 86 seconds. The dedication of local firefighters and first responders is something we wanted to raise attention to during this year’s fire safety month,” says Art Miller, vice president of marketing for Vector Security. “We want to honor one local community while generating awareness of the important work these men and women do every day.”
