Vicon Opens Its Purse Strings for the First Time, Buys TeleSite U.S.A.

Vicon has acquired TeleSite U.S.A., a Tenafly, N.Y.-based company specializing in the transmission of video and control signals over cellular networks, satellite and high speed (ISDN) or standard phone lines.  According to Ken Darby, Vicon’s CEO, the TeleSite technology fits well into Vicon’s business of providing high-end multifunctional engineered video system solution to its customers.  The TeleSite purchase is the first made by Vicon in its 32-year history.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
