Vicon Expands Roughneck Series With V2020 Multisensor Camera

The V2020 model provides installing security contractors with a ready-to-ship, NDAA-compliant camera suitable for government facilities.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — Vicon Industries announces the launch of the Roughneck V2020 multisensor camera.

Having evaluated the state of the video security industry early in the pandemic and identified the likelihood of long-term supply chain disruption, Vicon says it strategically invested in its most popular cameras including the NDAA-compliant Roughneck Series and the development of the NDAA-compliant V2020.

The new Roughneck V2020 is available and in stock now, allowing security integrators to continue to meet growing video surveillance demands with advanced technologies even amid the continued disruptions, according to the announcement.

Featuring four 5-megapixel sensors, each with independent motorized PTZ control, the V2020 is said to provide flexible, multidirectional video surveillance that replaces multiple single-sensor cameras and is suitable for monitoring large areas.

The camera features presets for 180˚, 270˚ and 360˚ panoramic coverage, while also offering manual, customized and individual configurations from PCs to help eliminate problem blind spots.

The V2020 provides reliably high-quality images in all types of daylight and challenging lighting situations such as low-light, oversaturation or glares, according to the announcement. Using 120 dB True WDR, IR illumination of 131 feet, along with Starlight color imaging, the V2020 is said to capture critical forensic details of subjects, such as clothing and hair color.

Engineers considered every facet of the multisensor camera’s creation, including ease of installation, use, reliability and compatibility, says Bob Germain, director, hardware product management, Vicon.

“The V2020 provides a highly-competitive NDAA-compliant option for integrators. It is feature-rich, easy-to-use, and is certified with most major video management systems, making integration into existing systems easy,” Germain continues.

Vicon is a subsidiary of Cemtrex (Nasdaq: CETX), a diversified technology company offering a range of products, systems and services for various industries.
