A new video released by the Columbus Division of Police and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction features three convicted burglars offering tips to help homeowners secure and protect their homes.
Each of the inmates, who volunteered to be in the video, is serving a prison sentence for a property crime, such as breaking and entering or receiving stolen property, HLN reports.
In the video, the convicts urge homeowners not to leave their valuable in view, as burglars look in windows before breaking into homes.
Additionally, one of the inmates suggested that homeowners who are not home a lot to invest in a security system, as most burglars view home security alarms as a deterrent.
