NEW YORK CITY – Considering ISC East is the largest physical security trade show in the northeast, it would be fair to say it’s also a good place to spot emerging trends.
After walking around the show floor, it quickly became apparent what this year’s big trend is: video doorbells.
Video doorbell offerings ranged from the consumer facing Ring, to the professionally installed Z100D by Infinite Play.
A common theme among doorbells on display was the ability to access live video of visitors on the end users phone.

With smart home ownership predicted to double over the next year to 30 million households, video doorbells are the perfect product for consumers looking to dive into the market.
The fact that 30 to 40 percent of all break-ins occur by way of the front door make video doorbells especially appealing.
