TAYLOR, Texas — A convenience store clerk was robbed at gunpoint on Nov. 19. Now, thanks to the video surveillance system installed in the store, three thieves connected to a string of robberies have been arrested.

KEYE TV reports more than 20 security cameras at the store recorded one of the suspects pointing a gun at the clerk’s head and demands the cash from the register. The clerk begs the thief not to shoot and the criminal leaves the store with the money.

“It’s a shocking crime. A scary crime,” Taylor Police Department Commander Joseph Branson said.

The employee’s description of her attacker and the high-quality video surveillance led police to arrest 24-year-old Ryan Carson, who admitted to multiple robberies in the area.

Carson and two other members of his crew — Dustin Clark, 20, and Cedric McClain, 19 — face several robbery and organized crime charges, according to the report.

Branson said the trio had multiple firearms on them when they were caught.

“We’re just pleased that our community can breathe a sigh of relief that they’ve been caught and brought to justice,” Branson said.
