RSIalarm Inc.‘s Videofied VIA-Pro Intrusion Alarm was named “Best of NPS” at the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) 2007 New Product Showcase (NPS) held March 27-28, at ISC West. More than 90 new products and services were unveiled at the event.
The totally wireless intrusion alarm reporting and video verification system, the Videofied ViA-Pro, offers homeowners access to the same monitoring technology used by banks, jewelry stores and shopping malls while safeguarding privacy. The product features a P-Cam, a digital camera integrated with a motion sensor. The P-Cam only works when the alarm system is armed, and when activated, records 10 seconds of video that is transmitted to a central monitoring station. The central station views the video and dispatches police if necessary. A request for police dispatch can be made within 20 seconds of the alarm.
The NPS was established in 1977 and recognizes innovation in product design. At this year’s event, 19 judges representing a cross-section of the industry spent nearly two full days evaluating contest entries on pricing, innovation, product features and functionality.
SIA President Bill Gorski, of Siemens Building Technologies, NPS Committee Chair Sandra Jones, of Sandra Jones and Co., and SIA Executive Director Richard Chace presided over the award ceremony.
