Voice Messaging Device Reduces Evacuation Time

Published: November 30, 2007

System Sensor of St. Charles, Ill., announces its improvement of ExitPoint™ with Voice Messaging into a product that can reduce evacuation times up to 75 percent, according to the company. The technology uses broadband sound to help occupants find the closest exit. The device also provides verbal instructions such as “stairs up,” “stairs down,” “area of refuge” and “exit here” to direct guests out of a large building.

ExitPoint offers 15 field-selectable single and combination language choices. The product also has an optional disable feature for use in conjunction with a control module or heat sensor and comes in a low-profile compact design of 4 inches X 4 inches.
