Walin Leaves GE Security to Join GVI Security Solutions Inc.

GVI Security Solutions Inc.  announces the appointment of Steve Walin as its new CEO. The move will become effective March 6.

Walin comes to GVI form GE Security Enterprise Solutions where he was president since April,2003. During Walin’s tenure, GE Security effectively integrated several acquisitions and expanded the firm’s product and service offerings while increasing the firm’s revenue by 20 percent and operating margin by 33 percent.

His track record is one of complete success in both growing shareholder value and company stability, and he is recognized as one of the leaders in the security industry. His experience at General Electric will serve him well at GVI.”

Walin was senior vice president with the security systems division of Siemens Building Technologies Inc. (SBT) where he was responsible for field sales and installation and service operations. He also held the position of president and CEO of Security Technologies Group (STG) from 1997 through 2001.
