WBFAA, HOME AUTOMATION FORUMS SLATED FOR ISC LAS VEGAS

MONROVIA, Calif., and NORWALK, Conn.

A newly developed apprenticeship and certification program will be the topic for an industry forum held by the Western Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA) on Thursday at the International Security Conference (ISC) Las Vegas show. The briefing will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Sands Convention Center and will be conducted by representatives of the WBFAA.

The forum topic is based on two California legislative bills (AB931 and AB921) that mandates all persons working in the fire and integrated systems industry working with 100 volt-amperes or more and C-10 license holders subject to certification and an apprenticeship program. “The establishment of this apprenticeship program by members of the fire/integrated systems industry in California means the program will accurately reflect the work that we do and be relevant to the industry we are involved in,” says George Gunning, president of the WBFAA.

In other news, the ISC show will also feature a complementary manufacturing training forum held by the Home Automation Show and Conference Wednesday through Friday. The mini-conference program is designed to offer the products, technology and education needed to help solve tough business challenges in the home automation industry. Attendees will learn installation tips and techniques from industry suppliers.
